By Your Side 03:54
There's not much more we can do now everything is gone Nothing left to help us to know how we can carry on There are days when we fade apart and days when nothing's wrong But I know we don't know where we belong I just wanna tell you Please, do not cry Now I am compelled to Be by your side Days go by like falling water outside in the rain Nights go by in which I wonder if I'm even sane Now and then, I just wish that nothing ever changed But I just hope that it's not all in vain I just wanna tell you Please, do not cry Now I am compelled to Be by your side Sleepless nights pass unhindered, thoughts begin to roam Now I know what it means to be a rolling stone I was not put on the earth to live my life alone I just want someplace to call my own I just wanna tell you Please, do not cry Now I am compelled to Be by your side

As the days of our future passed I often wondered how it would last I always thought we were meant to be Like sailing ships on an endless sea You can live safe and sound with your head underground As you wallow in your own misery But look to the stars when your vision is found And there you’ll find me Like a mourning dove I’ll cry till the sky’s drained of blue ‘Cause a life without love Is a life without you You always said it was worth the wait But not all knots are tied by fate Long ago I should have known That our love was overgrown You can hide all your fears as you wipe away your tears You can shroud your whole life in mystery But look to the west as the fog slowly clears And there you’ll find me Like a mourning dove I’ll cry till the sky’s drained of blue ‘Cause a life without love Is a life without you Like a mourning dove I’ll cry till the sky’s drained of blue ‘Cause a life without love Is a life without you Like the morning dew We’ve grown in our own endless sea ‘Cause a life without you Is a life without me

Hey there, miss auburn hair I was once a lot like you Headstrong, and often wrong Close calls? I've had a few. Innocence is nothing but a memory A childlike exquisite state of mind Growing up is difficult when you're on your own And you are far behind Far behind I was young, with a right sharp tongue Slicing at others' points of view I barked and brayed, forcing friends away Fiercely protecting what I saw true Innocence is nothing but a memory A childlike exquisite state of mind Growing up is difficult when you're on your own And you are far behind Far behind Hey there, miss auburn hair Take my advice, hear my plea Don't fear all those words you hear When you're true to yourself, you'll be free Innocence should never be forgotten A part of you you mustn't leave behind Growing up is difficult when you're on your own But you'll turn out just fine You'll be fine

Walking Away 04:30
If I told you I really love you Would you know that I really meant it? I could show you depictions of you But I know that you'd be discontent If I told you this song's about you Would you know that I really meant it? I could show you what I'd be without you But I know that you'd be discontent How could I go? We need to be strong They wouldn't know If we were gone If you told me you really loved me Would I know if you really meant it? You could show me what you want us to be But I know that you'd be discontent How could I go? We need to be strong They wouldn't know If we were gone How could you go? Why are you walking away? Please stay I cannot go on How could you go? (How could I go?) Why are you walking away? (We need to be strong) Please stay (They wouldn't know) I cannot go on (If we were gone)

I will start anew I will follow you If we go, who will know we jumped the gate? If we fall, no one at all can change our fate God knows We’re caught in circles as we see the world through each other’s eyes Hearts on the ground will never be found through lover’s eyes Life surrounds us all Life behind the wall We will fly, we will fly far away We will live, we will live beyond today God knows We’re caught in circles as we see the world through each other’s eyes Hearts on the ground will never be found through lover’s eyes I can feel no pain I will rise again Like a bird in this world, I’ll take my bow Like a cloud, I am found, you’ll see me now

Monochrome 03:59
I can't tell who is calling In the present state of mind I think I’m falling And I know that I am running out of time I don't know what you’re saying I can’t hear your words at all If you were praying I’d never know, or at least I can’t recall Recollections begin to fade To a hazy monochrome Nobody dares to change So together we walk the Earth alone This existence is hard to defend And harder to forgive And if this ever ends, I hope I still have the will to live I’ve seen this all before I’ve seen this all before I’ve seen this all and more

Breathe 04:43
Can you see the candlelight dying now? Restlessness makes innocence ebb and fade Breathe Golden hair flows freely through calloused hands Misled grins make way to show youthful teeth Breathe Happiness and providence leave our eyes Can you see the candlelight dying now?

The Machine 07:41
Will you stop the music? Will you stop the music? There's a ringing in my head I cannot compute this I cannot compute this My brain is made of lead As autumn turns to winter A sudden chill corrupts my breathing The frozen air grows thinner My blood runs cold and I stop bleeding I grow inward in frustration I shake to try and regain feeling In my stolid isolation My weary mind is reeling When colors fade and frigid lights are glaring I am lost; Tu fui, ego eris. When colors fade and frigid lights are glaring I am lost; Tu fui, ego eris. Tu fui, ego eris Tu fui, ego eris Tu fui, ego eris Tu fui, ego eris When the world is burning When the world is burning And reason turns to rage All the cogs keep turning All the cogs keep turning And lives go on unchanged Now all I taste turns bitter My consciousness is fraying As autumn turns to winter What's left of me is decaying As colors fade and frigid lights are glaring I am lost; Tu fui, ego eris. As colors fade and frigid lights are glaring I am lost; Tu fui, ego eris. Tu fui, ego eris Tu fui, ego eris Tu fui, ego eris Tu fui, ego eris Will you stop the music? Will you stop the music? There's a ringing in my head

Once there was a young boy by the name of Clay. Now Clay was an awkward bull of a boy. He often found himself bored and in want of an adventure. One day, as Clay was playing with his toys in the backyard, a looming figure approached him. The figure introduced himself as Grenglackenflack. Gren for short. “Hark to me, boy, and listen to my tale!” he rasped. “I come from the land of Flonth, a country torn asunder by an evil force greater than any before.” Clay sat before the figure, mouth agape, as he realized he had forgotten his shoes. A good adventurer never leaves home without proper footwear. He scurried inside to retrieve his adventuring loafers, hurriedly sliding them onto his feet as he grabbed a can of his favorite surströmming to eat on the road. “Tarry not, young hero,” shouted Gren, as he mounted his faithful steed, Lorydorydu. “We must depart at once for the Spiral Tower. Onward!” Hark to the tale of Clay! (The story’s just begun!) Our hero who will save the day! (He’s the chosen one!) All the evil forces are thrown off course as he rides on to bring the light! He’ll battle to his final breath! (He doesn’t feel fear!) He chuckles at the face of death! (The conflict draws near!) He won’t be late to change the fate of Flonth in the final fight! Faster than you can say “subinterflanderdoppenschmingleheimerflax,” they reached Flonth, as Lorydorydu was wicked quick. When they arrived, Gren recounted the tale of Doomenhagengragen, the evil warlock who hailed from the frozen terrain of Grothgingland. “He’s kind of a jerk,” spoke the wise Grenglackenflack. “Do be a dear and defeat him atop the Spiral Tower for me.” Clay steeled himself and prepared to make the harrowing journey to the top of the menacing Spiral Tower. He peed a little. Having calmed down, Clay began his ascent to the lair of his villainous adversary. Upon stepping foot into the perilous fortress, a voice sounded in his thoughts. It spoke thus: “It is I, Doomenhagengragen! Prepare to face the seven trials of the Janjenjugenfoloreangong! You shan’t succeed!” Having bested the trials that shall not be named twice, Clay barged into the empty chamber of Doomenhagengragen, and he took a minute to catch his breath. Tired and hungry, Clay reached into his pocket and pulled out his beloved surströmming, ripping open the can to rejuvenate his spirit with its contents. “OH CHEESE AND CRACKERS, WHAT IS THAT SMELL?!” croaked Doomenhagengragen, from his hiding spot at the opposite end of the room. “GET IT AWAY!” Clay, noticing his enemy’s repulsion to the tantalizing aroma, was at first hurt, but soon realized the tactical advantage given to him by his tasty treat. Clay walked forward, pushing the warlock further and further back until he had nowhere else to go. Clay extended the fish to his opponent’s face, who passed out and fell from the tower. "That was easy,” Clay mused as he jaunted down the tower to Gren, enjoying his fermented herring along the way. Hark to the tale of Clay! (The grisly quest is done!) Our hero who has saved the day! (He’s the chosen one!) Doomenhagengragen’s fatal flaw was his very sensitive taste! He vanquished evil overnight! (He saved the magic land!) He hardly even had to fight! (He barely used his hands!) The legend has been told since the days of old and it transcends time and space! This has been another look into the unpredictable adventures of Clay. Tune in next week for the next exciting installment of Clay’s Periodic Fable!
